Xplane radios
I have found that changing frequencies in xplane is unrealisticly hard with some helos. Is there a way to set it in a 2d panel or, in an external program? Maybe from the ipad/iphone?

Airtrack sounds like something you're looking for: http://www.ipobjects.com/airtrack/ataglance

In a different hardware direction. For me it made a HUGE difference when I added the Saitek radio panel to my home sim set up. Much faster switching frequencies. More natural. Easier to fly while adjusting the radio. Also works with the VOR's.
For me, well worth the $'s.
Works with FSX and X-plane. FSX is almost pure "plug and play".
The X-plane (10.25 and 10.30) will need the XSaitekpanels radio panel plug in. The plug in is easy to install and I can report that it even works on Linux (can't report that PE client works on Linux )

Re: Xplane radios
I've mapped all the nav/com frequency controls to various buttons on my joystick. Very simple to change frequencies when you have buttons to do it. Trying to hit all those little click points with a mouse while trying to fly is hard.

Re: Xplane radios
I mapped ctrl-up, down, left and right to the commands which increment and decrement the big and small numbers on the com1 stdby freq. I mapped the com1 prim/stdby flip flop command to a button on the joystick. It makes changing freqs very easy.

X-Mapper Pro for iPad allows you to control your radios and autopilot functions. I use it all the time.
