Re: another test video from cockpit
btw, I'll be the first to admit that this isn't a particularly thrilling video. VFR direct in good weather...not much going on, really. It really is a test video prior to embarking on the shooting of what will hopefully be some more interesting stuff.
I'm really excited to get into some IMC with this rig, what a shame the cold season is coming.

Shhh. Don't worry, I'm sure it's a common name.Keith Smith wrote:And there I was, bending over backwards in the video to not use his name. lolAnthony Santanastaso wrote:I heard Traian toward the end of your video. Nice vid.

YouTube tracks if there's any music in their videos and will make them not viewable on mobile devices unfortunately. I'm having the same issue with a few of my clips.kullery wrote:This video appears to be set to prevent watching it on a mobile device. Any chance that restriction can be removed?

Finally finished watching it and all I can say is.... that was mental!
Your rwy 1 landing into N07 scared the living [epithet for brown human waste] out of me! The way you floated over those trees, breezed over the damn-there's-one-third-of-my-runway-gone displaced threshold (at what looked like 250mph), made some (very) last second roll adjustments, and then casually reined everything in... Well... Kudos! ("luck" or no luck). I can see why you were hoping for rwy 19 now.
Oh and, Anthony, please say hi to your buddy Traian for me as well.

Re: another test video from cockpit
I used the beta 'remove music' feature in xplane. It cut out 10 minutes of audio, leaving the audio totally out of sync with the video. Not happy! I'm reverting it to the original audio now. What a pain. Will post when it's fixed.
The hard part about landing on runway 1 is trying to predict what energy you might lose coming over the trees if it shears to calm wind, or a downdraft. You clear the trees then duck down, but do so with a power reduction so you're not picking up extra speed. My goal was to touch down on the rwy 1 displaced threshold, which succeeded. That said, it's really not much fun in that airplane. 172's come in 20-25kts slower...giving them more time and room for error.
Much prefer rwy 19!

Re: another test video from cockpit
Just found out that my effort to remove the music (using their 'remove music' beta option) chops out the audio and then leaves the rest of the video out of sync (you can hear the plane shutdown about 10 minutes before the video ends...it's totally hosed).
So, I'm undoing and reverting to original audio. Not sure how long it takes their system to undo it.

Ah. I wondered what was going on there. Thought something on my system was hosed.

Ok, it seems to be back to its original state. Cyrus, you might want to watch the tail end again (from about 45mins onwards) now that the audio is back.
