10.3 gps vs rxp

How functional is 10.3's stock gps? I may be tasked with setting up a system for IFR training and part of it hinges on having an accurate gps for approaches. I am used to rxp in xp9. But if the stock units database in 10.3 can be updated and all logic is same or very close I may feel better about setting it up with xp10.3(i believe rxp can be made to work in xp 10 32bit) but i havent done it yet.

Also the student flys a 206 and carenado doesnt support xp9 anymore as far as i see.

The new GPS was built by Philip primarily to aid him with his IFR training. Here's a writeup on it straight from the dev:

My experience has been extremely positive. Every airplane that has it has been made much better.

the 10.3 gps upgrade is a great step, but the moment I started trying to do the things I do in my airplane, it fell short.

I would use SImAVIO's Garmin implementation if it's for r/w flight training.

Thats what I recently figured out as well. Nice effort on the stock gps in 10.3 though!

I was able to get the rxp430 working in 10.3 demo so thats good.
