Well went out for a few RW touch and goes before work this morning and thought I was having a Pilotedge moment. Sorry for the really bad pictures but the sun and camera on my phone did not want to work well together.
Any way, never seen this variation of aircraft anywhere but Pilotedge on a Sunday afternoon. There was the Albatross that was lined up, a Mooney holding short, a TBM in front of me, My 172, behind me was a King Air , and a Hawker on its way. Any way, thought I would share since the Albatross was really cool. Took off like a rocket. We pretty much took over the tower frequency talking to the pilots about the plane. Apparently it is really expensive to operate and as the pilot put it "fairly unreliable". About 200 miles between fuel stops is the best he can hope for with the tools and spare parts he flies with (love to know where he puts that stuff since it looks absent any cargo space). The King Air pilot said that it made their cost per hour sound cheep.
