ILS threshold lines on taxiways

Post by uncertifiedpilot »

Dear aviators,

KVNY has threshold lines with a taxiway sign referring to 'ILS'. What purpose do these threshold lines serve? And, should I adhere to these in PE?

They won't do anything in PE. They're ILS critical area hold short points. In the real world, under certain weather conditions, ATC will require pilots to "hold short of ils critical area" and that's the line you'd stop at instead of the usual runway hold short.
