The rating calls for specific routes for the type of aircraft:
VNY3.DAG.CRESO4 for pistons and turboprop
VNY3.DAG.KEPEC6 for RNAV jet
VNY3.DAG.CLARR3 for non-RNAV jet
I was going to fly the included cirus vision in xplane for this rating and while I can follow how I get to/from DAGGET on the piston arrival, there is no mention of the DAGGET transition on the KEPEC6 STAR. Not sure how I get from DAG to one of the published transitions? I was assuming that IFR flight planning would have a route that all connects together without any ambiguity.

Re: I-5 question
The rating description is old. There is no longer a DAG transition on the KEPEC arrival. Changed months ago. Correct routing now is DAG MISEN.KEPEC6

Re: I-5 question
Ok, great. But shouldn't we use the CLARR3 arrival then? https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/1803/pdf/00662CLARR.PDF
Seems to make sense, as DAGGET is on both charts...

Re: I-5 question
If you're non RNAV equipped, by all means file the CLARR. If you're RNAV equipped file VNY3.DAG MISEN.KEPEC6 for sure.

Re: I-5 question
Thanks, Shawn. I am doing my instrument training IRL, so I like the practice of using the VORs. Doing it in the 172 takes like 2 hrs tho!

Re: I-5 question
Indeed it does. I've seen many people fly it in a C172 though. Makes for a long flight. Feel free to fly it using VOR's only though on the CLARR arrival.

Re: I-5 question
You'll be on the CRESO arrival if you're using a 172. I'll update the rating with the jet routing changes since DAG is no longer a transition on the KEPEC.

Re: I-5 question
Wouldn't happen to know why you can't use the CRESO4 arrival? It has turbojet flight planning altitudes on it.
