Is traffic at airports AI in PilotEdge?

Post by breadwild »

Getting back into the PilotEdge groove and noticed yesterday, at an uncontrolled airport (KBNG), there was traffic on approach and departure. They appeared out of the "ether" on approach and then disappeared at some point in climb out. I didn't see anybody flying the pattern. There was some ramp presence. No radio communications. Is there a discussion of this somewhere on the PilotEdge site? A search in the Forums was too general to find results.

From the “Getting Started” page:
Be on the lookout for lots of VFR traffic flying around within the coverage area that isn’t communicating on the radio. This happens in real life more than most simulation enthusiasts realize. These “drone” aircraft only fly in Class E and G airspace on PilotEdge.

There aren't any drones which appear on final, or disappear after takeoff. Every drone is recorded (by hand) as an end to end flight.

Obviously, I need to find out about these drones. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

UPDATE: Just did a search on Discord and got all kinds of help in understanding the concept. Liking Discord! Is Discord the new forums?

The forums aren't going anywhere, however in the past 2-3 years we have certainly seen the forum activity decline as the activity increased on Discord. That's not to say these forums are anywhere close to being dead, but Discord offers a much faster way to interact with users.

For anyone wondering:
