I have a multi-machine setup running x9.70 and wanted an interface to FF on the iPad and didn't want to have to upgrade the PCs to run v10, so I use RedBird Flight Simulations' Cygnus (http://retail.redbirdflight.com/collections/cygnus) or (http://www.redbirdflightsimulations.com/cygnus/) -- a bit pricey, but works very well.

Sorry it took so long, I have been busy. Here is the plugin for Mac OS X systems. Requires Mac OS X 10.5 or greater. To install, unzip the file and place forexp.xpl into the plugins folder. After launching, run ForeFlight on any device within the same subnet as your X-Plane computer. Afterward, you should be able to see ForeXP under devices within ForeFlight.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

No traffic is shown yet, I am working on that.

No windows version yet, if someone is willing to compile the windows version, let me know.

So, if you're on a Mac, let me know and I'll give you a link to download the plugin.

(1st): Sorry for bringing this -such an old- thread alive again, but I am at present at the same situation.

(2nd): That being said, I would sincerely appreciate if you can share the Mac plug-in or whatever so I can connect my ForeFlight for iPad to my X-Plane 9

My X-plane is running in a Mac Mini 2011 where X-Plane 11 is not an option, since it requires far more than it's capabilities. So I decided stay in X-Plane 9 until I see any improvement in X-Plane other than eye-candy visually-impacting improvements they are lately concentrated in. I am a ForeFlight user since a couple of weeks, actually in trial (I have a Jeppesen iPad subscription) If I can make this work, maybe I keep them both.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Best regards!

No answer since June 23rd, I have to assume:

(1) Nobody has this problem anymore.
(2) Plug-in author is not in this forum anymore.
(3) Nobody has even the plug-in source available so at least I can try to get it working in my side.

Sorry to have to assume that. ;)

Matt, the plugin author, last visited in 2016. You could try a PM to him and see if he gets it (that should generate an email alert).

Alternatively, can you try xplane-10? It has native ForeFlight support.

If you can easily find the software solution to have XP9 push GPS and AHARS data to ForeFlight, go for it (it would actually be a very simple plugin to write), but otherwise, you might need to commit to getting more recent hardware, upgrading the sim and then reaping the benefits of having native ForeFlight support.

I had successfully connected Foreflight and X-Plane 9.7 (wirelessly) using XMapsy v3 with XUIPC (on a Windows 7, AATD simulator). Both SyntheticVision & GPS Moving map worked on the iPad/Foreflight.

You MUST read the installation instructions very closely on how to setup XUIPC to work in conjuction with XMapsy v3. It is a plugin that translates X-Plane datarefs to FSUIPC offsets. You will need to copy a XUIPC folder into XPlane's Plugins folder for it to work (follow the instruction text for the correct Server IP addresses).

After following the installation instructions for XMapsy, be sure to use the "XPlane" + FSUIPC mode, NOT the GDL90 output and send the data directly to your iPad's IP address (look on Youtube for how to find your iPad's IP address). Your iPad must be on the same network as the simulator computer. XMapsy says it works on XPlane 10/11 but it also worked on XP9.7.

If you've never connected an iPad+Foreflight Mobile to a simulator before I suggest this article:
https://ipadpilotnews.com/2021/10/how-t ... light-sim/

Additionally, we were able to use the Garmin 1000 (G1000) app from SIMiONIC for iPad ($9.99) with it's associated plugin for Xplane. You must start Xplane 9 and have the SIMiONIC G1000 app running prior to executing the XUIPC & XMapsy apps (Foreflight connection) for both the G1000 app and Foreflight to work together.

XUIPC (Free): https://www.schiratti.com/xpuipc.html
XMapsy v3 (Demo Free, but very limited, otherwise $16 digital purchase): https://xmapsy.com/
Purchase XMapsy from: https://secure.simmarket.com/michael-ku ... -p3d.phtml
SIMiONIC G1000 app: https://www.simionic.net/wordpress/g1000-apps/

Good luck!
