Gentlemen, I could not find any information on that.
What MAFPI means on VOR/DME or GPS-B IAP for AVX?
Cheers, AJ

Thank you, Steve. Why it is inside theparenthesis? (MAFPI) instead of just MAFPI?
It is also MAP ( Missed Approach Point), correct?

MAFPI is the name of the Computer Navigation Fix, hence it is in parenthesis. According to the Aviation Glossary, a Computer Navigation Fix is: A point used to define a navigation track for an airborne computer system such as GPS or FMS. In this case, MAFPI is also the Missed Approach Fix.

The thing to know about CNF's is that a pilot should never refer to them by name when interacting with ATC, as ATC does not have CNF's depicted on their scopes.

You're welcome, that's one of the things that can't easily be picked up from a legend. I recall reading it in Rod Machado's Instrument Survival Manual (an excellent book that I'd highly recommend, btw).Steven Winslow wrote:Thanks for that info, Keith. I didn't realize that part.

Learn something new every day. I've seen these before, SEPDY comes to mind (the point where you start the left turn on the PORTE3 from the 1's) but never knew they had a name. Of course now that I look, that one isn't on the FAA chart but is on the Jeppesen. Go figure..
