Hi Keith,Keith Smith wrote:After a lot of work, they have something for me. It's a SLIGHTLY newer version than ours, but hopefully still compatible. If this works, we'll be able to move to 64-bit for Mac without upgrading the voice library for everyone else.Keith Smith wrote:I have a ticket opened with the voice library provider to see if they can furnish me with a 64-bit Mac build of the version of the library that we use (as I've said, they have a 64-bit Mac build available now, but it's for a newer version of the voice library/server and is not backwards compatible with older library that we're using. I know I've mentioned this in many threads, but none with a thread title as on point as this one
I'll post any updates here.
Bear in mind, this might still have issues under the newer releases of MacOS (the audio breaking up), but we'll see.
That's certainly good news! Any ETA?

Unfortunately not, they sent me the Windows build instead of the Mac build. I'm still waiting to get the Mac build from them.

Re: 64 bit plugin for mac
They sent me the new Mac plugin recently, I plan on giving it a try sometime this weekend if all goes well.
Re: 64 bit plugin for mac
Here's my naive question: is this issue why, after updating my XP installation on the Mac the other day, XP tells me I have no plugins installed? I tried reinstalling PE this afternoon, with no luck, and then I found this thread! If this is why the new XP installation doesn't see the PE plugin, I'll just wait for the new, 64 bit version.
Thanks,
Doug

Doug, you can still fly on PE, just start x-plane in 32bit mode. In your App folder, you will see icons for both 32 and 64 bit, just launch in 32 bit mode for now to fly on PE.

Thanks, Brent - I usually use an application launcher, so I hadn't see the 32-bit version. That works!

Keith: Did you get at chance to try out the new plugin?
Re: 64 bit plugin for mac
I also created 2 different preference files that I dupe and rename at the time of launching a particular version. Understandably, the default 64-bit preferences would crash my 32-bit version on launch and what's the point of running the 64-bit version without all the effects?currentadventure wrote:Doug, you can still fly on PE, just start x-plane in 32bit mode.
