Thanks Artem for posting this event today.... had fun :D Although I completed up to the I6 rating, I still have a lot to learn practicing traffic patterns with many other pilots at the same airport.... and while learning CTAF phraseology. Also, these small airports, with almost no scenery to see from high altitudes, makes it a challenge for situational awareness. Pretty much relied on my heading bug the whole time for each leg of the pattern.

I'm going to try to be on tomorrow again as well.

p.s. I was online today as Skyhawk N5582Y, but often times fly a Bonanza BE33/F33A as N5582Y as well.

Best

Hi Ray,

Heard and remember your callsign there. Flying those curcuits was much fun indeed. Glad you like it and will be waiting for you tomorrow (today?) ;) Next time we'll choose another airfields with not so flat scenery around. I'm thinking of Banning to Palm Springs.

For all:

This time (on Sunday) let's make it a bit more structured:
1900z-2000z — CTAF practice at L19
2000z-2100z — moving to KBFL for several circuits and back to L19
2100z-2200z — at your discretion L19/KBFL

excellent decision with tightening up the schedule a bit so people have a greater chance to encounter other pilots.

Ok, we did it and that was great! Especially today as we managed to do some flying on both L19 and KBFL.

Looks like 2 hours and one day is enough for this kind of event, so the next time will be on Saturday, April 11th, 1900z-2100z at KBNG-KPSP. Will post an announcement little bit later.

Thanks to all participants!

Thanks crum for organising it.

I was the cherokee having issues with seeing PE traffic. Was getting round to installing a bunch of addons and must have messed something up in the process. A reinstall of the client got everything sorted for me. Was definitely fun with the 3 of us in the pattern, would like to see how it would be when it'd be busier.

Hey,

It was good fun. I especially enjoyed when we flew to KBFL which made things a bit hot over there :) I also think that 2 hours is plenty. Flying the pattern in 800 agl threw me off a bit in the beginning, but I was ok later on..

I was the other cherokee, joining the left downwind when back from KBFL, when two cherokees almost merged :) I used some aerobatics and we both survived :)

It happened to me before (no models shown for some reason). Glad you sorted it out.
