Even in the real world I always tried to follow the practice of telling the controller which option I would be exercising on my read-back when "cleared for the option".
Also, back a million years ago when I was flying RW, the phraseology was "abeam the tower" rather than "midfield" (or "mid-downwind"). Is the "abeam" phrase still OK?
