I conducted an IFR flight from Lincoln Park, NJ to Champaign, IL last year, which was about 640nm each way.
Since I was flying into new airspace, I thought I'd take the opportunity to write down the freq changes that I received during the flight. I'm posting them here for anyone that's curious about what freq changes they might receive on a long distance IFR flight in the low-altitude structure.
Here they are:
119.20 NY Departure
128.55 NY Departure (METRO sector if I'm not mistaken)
124.45 Allentown Approach
126.45 Harrisburg Approach
124.10 Harrisburg Approach
134.80 New York Center
121.20 Cleveland Center
133.95 Youngstown Approach\
118.60 Akron Approach
124.20 Mansfield Approach
128.07 Indianapolis Center
127.20 Fort Wayne Approach
121.05 Grisham Approach
121.35 Champaign Approach
So, if you're flying on PilotEdge and you wonder why you're getting frequency changes while you're enroute, know that we're not making it up
freq changes for an IFR flight
