Heli Ops question
Just some questions about proper heli ops. When departing a downtown heliport what is the correct procedure? Should the pilot talk to atc while still on the ground, just after departure, or once established on the heli route? Should he contact the freq for the nearest heli route or is there a unicom? Also what altitude should the heli routes be flown at? Thanks so much for your help.
