Keith is just trying to put it mildly. The truth is, we the controllers, protested and told Keith to either get rid of ZOA, or we'd walk. After months of internal meetings, studies, even intrusive exams, we just couldn't tolerate being unable to settle on the best way to pronounce ECA VOR's name.

So there, ZOA's faith was your fault!!

Alex, the whole Manteca thing was started by you ..

I did not know that Controllers did not want controlling ZOA.

I had a long break and I was hoping for flying at ZOA coverage, what I was hoping for was that PE will expand enough so more Controllers could be hired.

I understand that it might be hard to cover ZLA and ZOA with existing crew.

I miss it anyway and I hope pone day ZOA will be back.

AJ, we'd have to double the number of subscribers to be able to double the coverage area without losing money on the deal. There was no indication of any increase in subscriber rate with the addition of ZOA. Admittedly, we didn't have full time coverage there, but even when it was open, very few people flew there.

I still contend it is pronounced mawn-tay-kuh and not man-tee-kuh, but whatever.

For what it's worth, whenever I flew on weekends when ZOA was open I always flew up there. I loved flying into Garberville....all tucked away in a little valley. I really enjoyed the mountainous regions that were so challenging to get into. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Q1 2013.

For now, I'll just be happy to get my cockpit set up again after having moved to a new building. I sorely miss PE!!!
