Garmin PFC 430 Data

Post by Denny22 »

I have a Garmin PFC 430 in my sim and using realityxp to run it. I am an IFR student pilot (in reality), so I am new to flying approaches. I noticed lastnight as I attempted to fly the RNAV GPS Apprch for RWY 6 at Cable (KCCB) that as I tried to load this apprch into my GPS, the IAF (ELMOO) on the chart was not an option to select in my GPS. I am guessing that this is because my data in my GPS is out of date. Is this correct or am I missing something else here, and if my data is out of date, does anybody know how to update it?

Thanks for any help!

There is a thread in another forum (I can't find it right this second) explaining how to download the latest Garmin trainer and extract the 2011 nav data from that release. Has anyone else seen it?

It is in the RealityXP forum. I will dig it up when I get home.

Thanks Vincent!

I searched around the forums at RealityXP, but I was unsuccessful in finding it.

What about this one, does anybody know anything about it? www.aero.sors.fr/

Well it updated just fine, at least I think it did. When the 430 is loading up, the dates are showing Sep 2009, where as before it said Nov of 2004, however when I went to test it again at KCCB, trying to do the GPS Approach into Rwy 06, it still does not give me the option to select ELMOO as my IAF. Has anybody tried this same Approach at KCCB and ran into the same problem. I will check some Approaches at other airports and compare them to the JEPP charts from Foreflight to see if this is isolated. It could be too that the GPS for Rwy 06 Approach is newer then 2009, I dont know!
