C172 Fun Flight

Post by Ryan B »

Finally got back into the air again with a coworker. It was a C172 rental ($95hr/wet - decent!), with Garmin 430 dual NAV/COMMs - in decent shape. This is a far cry from socal but even with the hazy skies we went up the north shore of Lake Superior then back for an ILS where I work ATC (KDLH), then back to KSUW full stop.

It's always fun to talk to the controllers from the other side of the mic, even when I used my PE callsign once or twice (N8068C)

Here's a few pics, enjoy!
(p.s. the compression from photobucket kills the quality GRR)

I haven't seen such quality shots of <crossout>Ricky's</crossout> BG's shed, as you have in 4th and 15th pictures

Is it true that the interior of the 172 is that color to cause clouds to evaporate when you fly through them?

We didn't go IFR but I'm sure that is the reason!

Nice shots Ryan. I got checked out in the SkyCatcher last Thursday... 106/hr! Now if Oregon will give us some more nice clear days like last Thursday I'll get to fly her some more. (actually I was scheduled to shoot approaches in the Arrow for IFR currency but when I saw what a nice clear day it was I said no way am I going to put a hood on in this weather!)
