X-plane Error

Post by Kevin_atc »

Alright X-plane peeps, I'm getting a strange error. If I recall, I updated some scenery between the last time I flew x-plane and now...but I can't remember exactly what I updated. The error I am getting is:
BE ADVISED
Could not locate facade/forest/beach

khhr/my_pnt.pol

(io_dsf.cpp:739)
I already tried repairing x-plane. Any ideas?

Can you post the entire log.txt? When you have X-Plane issues, you should always post the log.txt or at least copy a few lines before and after the error warning and post those. It's best to post the whole thing so we can get a picture of what your X-Plane installation is doing.

With that said, from what you've posted, it appears the new scenery you installed was KHHR. Repairing X-Plane won't help with this error. It is a custom scenery issue. You either need to remove the offending scenery or fix the error by reinstalling it or installing the library that contains the missing object(s).

I don't know if it's any help, but I had similar problems after going crazy and loading a bunch of scenery. I just resolved it by deleting all the custom scenery from the folder. I may try adding in individual bits of scenery so I can make sure each one works, but it really isn't that important to me.

Here is the log.txt. Thanks for your help with this. When it comes to software and all of this stuff, Keith will tell you that I can be a bit clueless
I can vector you in for any approach you can think of, but this stuff is just beyond me :|

I can't include the entire log as it exceeds the max characters for the forum and I apparently cannot attach a .txt. But I think the following encompasses all of the errors. The first thing I tried when I got that error was removing the KHHR folder from my custom scenery but that didn't seem to change a thing. Somehow I was still getting the same error (pointed at the KHHR folder) even after the KHHR folder was gone.

The problem is your Los Angeles scenery, not the KHHR scenery. Tell me it's not the Los Angeles scenery from the org from a few months back. That was just plain bad!! Try removing the Los Angeles folder from your Custom Scenery folder and see what happens. Then, if all is well, put the KHHR scenery back into the Custom Scenery folder and see what happens. Then go find an error-free KLAX scenery.

You've got some other issues to deal with, too. Sure wish I could see the whole log.txt. You can e-mail it to me at winslowphoto@yahoo.com if you want. Any error, however small, degrades your X-Plane performance. You should strive for an error-free log.txt.

Ahh, that makes sense. Honestly, it probably is that scenery that you speak of. I went on a scenery spree a few weeks ago but haven't had time to fly since. I grabbed anything that looked decent :/

I'll definitely take you up on that offer to email my error log. I'll shoot that to you by the end of the night. Thanks so much, you can expect #1 priority in the sky in return for your efforts ;)
