I recently update my computer and was needing to reinstall the PE Client. Well after downloading the executable and trying to "Run As Admin" it gets about 80-90% through the installation and fails. I am installing on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. After having issues with this, I tried to install the SB software and had the same issue. Help!!!

have seen this before on some machines, can be because there is no dll.xml file for fsx, so check that first.

in some cases, the installation is effectively complete, but the installer crashes on a trivial post installation step.

you shouldn't have to run as admin manually anymore, btw.

check if pe has actually installed. if not, I suspect that dll.xml isn't present, or perhaps it's locked if fsx is running at the time you run the installer.

I did find the file that you are talking about. Let me try again tonight and see what happens. Hoping to do some PE flights in the near future. The installation isn't complete and there is nothing in the install directory.

It was FSX. I really cannot explain the problem. The installation never quite finished until tonight. I checked the install subdirectory after each install and tonight there was finally files in the directory.
