I used PilotEdge just fine for quite a while now, but I got this error today:

I was able to communicate with another pilot and it was 5/5, but I can't hear the controllers. I actually signed in before they opened and I heared the controller doing the initial annoucement, but after 2 mins it went 'dark'. Any clue why? Using 64bit Linux with XPlane 10.30

well I am now able to talk to the controller, so I'm not sure what the issue was.

The 'error connecting to voice' is always there, it's a bug in the status detection routine. I can't speak to why you couldn't hear the controller on that one flight.
