Good places to start (Socal)

What is a "good place to start?" That would be an airport with
- lots of assignments within the PE service area, AND
- lots of suitable aircraft available for rent.
Additionally Here are some good starting points within Socal:
- BUR (Burbank)
- VNY (Van Nuys)
- NYL (Yuma) (assignments to PSP)
- PSP (Palm Springs) (assignments back to NYL)
- LGB (Long Beach) assignment central!
- TRM (Cochran Regional Airport)
- SBA (Santa Barbara) more assignments than you can poke a stick at
