PE client on FSX SE and P3D 3.1 on one computer?

I am currently using FSX SE for my PE flights but I plan to gradually move to P3D 3.1
Can I install/use the PE client for P3D 3.1 in parallel with the FSX client, or do the interfere each other?

Thanks Don,
P3D and FSX SE work lovely together on my PC, the question was more related on the PE client: When I install the P3D client will it overwrite the FSX version? Maybe it is the same software anyhow and I can just make the entries in the exe.xml directly.
