Hey, just passed my I-10 on the second attempt, and I just want to give props to all you RW instrument pilots out there. Failed the first time because I was getting kicked around in 20-30 knot gusting winds, weather down close to minimums, found out too late that the Aerobask avionics stack doesn't do back-courses (or at least that I don't know how), fought the autopilot all flight long and wound up hand-flying most of the way, and ultimately got so stressed and task-saturated that I made a dumb mistake and did my procedure turn the wrong way into KSBP. (WTF dude, the heading is printed right there on the plate, why the heck would you turn left... )
I still can't say I know what that experience is like in the real world... but I feel a bit closer now, and when I eventually go after my RW tickets I know I'll be stronger and more confident about it thanks to PE.
Cheers,
Mike
