Scenery for ZLA?

Scenery for ZLA?

Postby Romans5.8 » Mon Apr 22, 2019 9:01 am

Hello friends!

I only have a subscription to the ZLA portion of PilotEdge and don't currently have plans to upgrade (To be honest, PilotEdge developed a love of stick and rudder slow piston VFR flying around SoCal!)

I'm looking for scenery that is at least accurate (I'm running P3D V4, and some runways are 'off' and stuff like that. I've even taxi'd through the grass, according to the geo-referenced approach plate on FltPlan Go!). If not, perhaps, a little prettier.

I think I'd be satisfied with freeware that just brought everything up to date. But barring that, some good compelling payware would be cool too!

What are you all using?

You can find updated airport layouts on websites like AVSIM.com, flightsim.com. Search the airport code in the file library, or browse the AFCAD section. Some airports haven’t been update for years, so they could still be out of date.

If you’re into editing your own scenery you can use Airport Design Editor found here... http://www.scruffyduck.org/downloads/4584110854

It’s a pretty simple program to use if you read the manual and start small. I use it a lot to make quick updates to new/closed taxiways and runway renumbering.

I got all mine from http://www.blueskyscenery.com/

slight misalignment at some airports but I just ignore it. If you're not feeling the bumps under your seat then it IS just simulated.
