Re: Easiest Way to Get Flight Plans into X-Plane: FMS Files

Thanks for the reply. I went back into SimRoutes and clicked on "generate routes" like you said. I was able to create the exact route I wanted, and download it in an FMS file. I went into X-Plane and my Carenado C206, and loaded the plan into the 530, and voila, there it was. So, yea, I think this ...

Re: Easiest Way to Get Flight Plans into X-Plane: FMS Files

OK, I've studied wmburns' reply. Thanks for the reply. I looked at the release notes you referenced, but it does not seem to be what I am looking for. The release notes talk about approaches, but apparently, DPs and STARs are not supported. I'm looking for DPs and STARs.

I don't think the issue ...

Re: Easiest Way to Get Flight Plans into X-Plane: FMS Files

Thanks for the replies. I had already tried xpflightplanner, but I find it to be inadequate, because it just has you enter a starting point and an ending point, and then it makes up a route for you. I require the ability to set my own route with DPs and STARs, or at least navaids and fixes ...

Easiest Way to Get Flight Plans into X-Plane: FMS Files?

I'm looking for a good way to enter a complex flight plan into the X-Plane G530, for example BUR to LAS, using the VNY1.DAG departure and the CRESO3 arrival. (This is actually the I-5 rating test.) This flight plan contains 11 fixes. Entering them all using the G530 is very cumbersome, you know, the ...

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

If you want to watch an instant replay of your landing, be sure to disconnect first! Today I didn't disconnect, and I got called by the tower asking me why I was doing another landing!

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes

If you have traffic in sight, and the controller tells you to follow the traffic for landing, and then later you lose the traffic, you're supposed to let the controller know! I failed to do just that the other day.

Re: Lost Radio Contact

OK, I figured out what was wrong. I had left the ignition and engine start switches on, and this was preventing the generators from engaging. Thanks again for your help. It will be great to fly without my radios cutting out!!

Re: Lost Radio Contact

Thanks, Keith, it looks like that is the issue precisely. I was flying a Carenado Beech Super King Air B200 and had done a cold-and-dark start. The generator switches were both on, but apparently I had to do some kind of reset first. I'm still in the process of figuring this out, and I posted a ...

Lost Radio Contact

I was on an IFR flight with X-Plane 10 and lost radio contact. I went ahead and followed what procedures I would follow in the real world, and also tried disconnecting and reconnecting, but that didn't help. I'm wondering how often any of you experience lost radio contact, or anything else you might ...

Re: New pilot, question: pausing

Thanks, this clarifies things very well. No pausing! Well maybe in certain rare circumstances, and let the controller know.
