Re: Cleared for Visual vs Cleared for Vectors to Visual?

Kevin,

You analyzed this perfectly, thank you! I'm a bit rusty since the last time I was on PilotEdge was quite a while ago and it must have thrown me off. Now I recall that other controllers usually ask me "Please report when you have the airport in sight" and I guess my controller thought that I ...

Cleared for Visual vs Cleared for Vectors to Visual?

Today I returned to PilotEdge after a long break. I took an IFR flight from KNTP to KTUS @ FL290. Everything went smoothly. Toward the end of the trip, I was asked to descend to 8,000 feet. The controller cleared me for visual approach to run 11 Left. I responded back with the read-back, and then he ...

Re: PilotEdge down?

Found the issue! So this was quite interesting, but I can connect fine, then after a few minutes, can't hear a thing. Turns out it was indeed electrical issue. My throttle quadrent is not working, so I had to use the one that comes with the joystick. Unknown to me, I was setting it to Cut-Off ...

Re: PilotEdge down?

The log.txt is an android log file, not PilotEdge.

Question, are you getting disconnected from the network, or are you simply not hearing any comms while remaining connected? If it's the former, can you double check your system voltage in the aircraft using the data output screen?

I'm connecting ...

Re: PilotEdge down?

I've been getting intermittent sudden loss of communications with the server with latest version of the PilotEdge plugin for Linux on XPlane11. On XPlane10, it was rock solid and never had a single issue over a year of usage. The pilotedge_stderr is empty, but I'm attaching PilotEdge_out.txt if it ...

PilotEdge down?

I was just getting my clearance when everything went silent. Tried reconnecting a few times with no avail. Anyone else experiencing this?

well I am now able to talk to the controller, so I'm not sure what the issue was.

Error connecting to PilotEdge voice

I used PilotEdge just fine for quite a while now, but I got this error today:

Re: Linux64 bit support

Joe, also what distro/arch and xplane10 version you're using? I am using it on Kubuntu 14.04 64bit and have used it flawlessly for numerous hours now.

Re: VFR Departure from Controlled Airport

Once I clear the runway, do I have to inform the tower that I am clear of the runway? I guess this means I cannot switch to ground frequency unless explicitly stated by tower?
