Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes
Hi Mudhen:
Yep, there were a LOT of things I did wrong in that video, in terms of aircraft loading and handling. Thinks that didn't immediately come to mind because I was too busy focusing on the engine and not crashing into the water. First, I was configured with 20 degrees of flaps and I don't ...

Re: Never again on PE - share your mistakes
Here's something I did on a twitch livestream a few days ago. Was on approach into KSBA on the GPS RWY 25 procedure in JRollon's Jetstream 32 (with the community update), when Keith triggered a left engine failure. I started corkscrewing to the left, almost recovered it twice, and was unable to get ...

Re: X-plane 10 simulation speed possible problem
You mention checking winds, which could cause a discrepancy between pilots running different weather.
Another issue could be frame rate. If your frame rate drops below 19 fps, X-Plane slows the simulation down below realtime. If your frame rate is indeed dropping below 19 fps, I'd suggest lower ...

Re: [Jan 17 (Sun) 1800-2100 PST] Left Turn at Albuquerque!
Howdy folks:
I took the latest X-Plane scenery off of the Scenery Gateway and decided to make some improvements to it. I noticed that the outline of the terminal building was a bit off, so I fixed it to be closer to the real terminal outline, fixed some ramp markings, added ramp start locations for ...

Re: [Jan 17 (Sun) 1800-2100 PST] Left Turn at Albuquerque!
The scenery on the ORG is pretty old and the runways/taxiways are outdated (one of the runways was removed a few years ago). The latest version on the Scenery Gateway is actually pretty decent (runways and taxiways seem to be accurate) but is legobrick of course.

Re: New C172 for Xplane?
Sitting at KSNA with the 172 turned on with all avionics on, I am using 2.2 GB out of 4 GB of VRAM. Unpaused, my framerate is around 27 fps. When I pause the sim, it jumps up to 37 fps. It's not just the 3D model/textures.

Re: New C172 for Xplane?
I got it yesterday and flew for just about 15 minutes at CMA. Everything seems amazing, except for the frame rate. Anyone else taking a hit on frames with this plane?
Yep, I'm taking a huge hit on framerate. I'm normally 30-60 fps with most rendering settings turned on or high, and my first load ...
