Practicing offline is of dubious value. The environment is dynamic, so practicing scripts instills the wrong ideas. Case in point, receiving an unexpected call threw you off.

The best practice is getting in the environment and running with it.

Which got me thinking, what would the controllers see if I attempted to start a flight from KSGU, then? Would they see me out in the boonies 5 miles northwest of where they see the airfield?

How exactly do the controllers see where our aircraft are located? Is it by simply reading the lat/long coordinates exported (in my case) by FSX?

The reason I ask is because I've just recently become aware of how erroneous some of the airfield locations in FSX really are. For example, I was ...
