I didn't forget you, honest!

Hello all.

Just a quick hi from me. I've just moved house and have no ADSL connection yet, so I'm working on a 3G connection - too slow, I am told, for working on PE :-(

The French telephone company tell me it could be up to two weeks before I'm reconnected!

As soon as I am, I'll be in to to the ...

Re: Hi Fi voice quality...

Cool - while I can see the advantage of clear voice comms in a training environment, it's not too realistic. I don't do much radio work in my RW flying, but often it's difficult to hear. Mind you, I'm flying a Microlight with an open cockpit and a portable radio!

Hi Fi voice quality...

Is there a reason we have hi-fi voice technology?

It was quite a shock the first time I came onto PE and the controller sounded as if he was sitting next to me - lol! It didn't sound like he was on a radio at all.

Why don't you use a processer to make the voice sound like radio?

Just a curious ...

Re: newbie needing advice/information

Ah right!

I didn't know Chino was operating at the time - I guess that might be the case in the Real World as well. We live and learn.

Thanks for the education Alex - one last thing - where _can_ I find the information as to the altitude of the Chino Delta Airspace? I;ve peered closely at the Los ...

Re: newbie needing advice/information

Heh! And there I thought I had it sorted!

Where on the sectional does it give the altitude of the Delta airspace? Sorry to ask dumb questions :-( But I have looked and I can't see anything obvious (I'm looking at Chino's one).

If it's an ICAO thing and not FAA, why did the controller insist I ...

Re: newbie needing advice/information

Oooh-kay.

After 3 attempts I think I finally started to get it right!

I remained on the tower freq untill told to change to Approach.

I got Flight Following to Ontario and managed not to do anything daft - as far as I know!

However:

1) The controller asked me to 'remain claer of Chino Delta ...

newbie needing advice/information

Good evening all.

Having done an evening of vfr circuits previoously I thought I would have a go at the V-02 rating this time - a Flight from John Wayne to Ontario.

I downloaded and printed the two airfield diagrams and put in a plan on Skyvector, as advised in the very useful instructional video ...
