Re: Aircraft joins cause CTD
Thanks Merv. Not seeing crashes in other games so I don't think it's a bad stick of ram but it could be an issue with video card drivers, I'll check that out, thanks!

Re: Aircraft joins cause CTD
I don't think that's the issue Keith because I'll get it in SB4 flying in a region where there's only 1 or 2 other people in range. Since it's common to both I wonder if one of the VIP models etc. are corrupt? I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstall the SB4 then the PE clients.

Re: Aircraft joins cause CTD
No unfortunately that's not it, I did that fix some time ago.
The CTD itself is very sudden with no error message. It only seems to happen in PE and SB4, and it happens a lot more with the PE client (which makes sense with all the drone aircraft coming in). The random timing seems to coincide well ...

Aircraft joins cause CTD
I've spent a lot of time hunting down a mysterious CTD I keep getting in FSX, and I think I've found it. I'm fairly sure it's caused by both SB4 and the PE client bringing a new multiplayer aircraft model into the sim. Has anyone seen this and if so any idea how to solve this issue?

Will PE be compatible with Prepar3D 2.0?
Debating formatting to Windows 8 and doing a new install on all my software. I'd probably leave FSX behind and go purely to Prepar3D 2.0 if I do so, will PE be compatible on launch? Plan to use PE for practice for my instrument rating in the next month or so.

Copying FSX install into Prepar3d
I have both FSX and Prepar3d and I was wondering if I could get some more expanded instructions on what files to copy over, in particular how to find the dll.xml file that needs editing and what sections.
Also I see a VIP and Squawkbox aircraft folder in FSX are those the ones I copy? (I had SB4 ...
