Hi Rob,
Thanks for your words of encouragement. That sounds similar to a story from my father. The one time he busted airspace in his flying career was when he took out a Piper Dakota (235hp) with two friends -- he was so impressed with the 1000+fpm climb on take-off. Never having to worry about ...

Re: First Radio Flight
Definitely. I have been recreating my actual flights on the sim afterwards. It's great to walk through the flight and go over the same process multiple times.

Re: First Radio Flight
Hi Keith,
Yes, that is MYF. We took off just as the marine layer was burning off last Saturday at 11am so there's still a bit of clouds and moisture in the air as you can see from the photos. We headed straight out over Torrey Pines then went up the coast to around Carlsbad (there's a photo or two ...

First Radio Flight
Hello, PE folks!
My first topic is here .
I have since taken my first lesson and, just today, my second lesson. Today's lesson had me do most of the radio work which got thumbs up from my CFI. Even though I've only done a few flights on here, I know those helped out. Now that I will be doing radio ...

Re: Trial Period Flights
Hello Steven,
True enough, but I was saying that in lieu of my callsign when responding to a request. I definitely think having a balance between 100% formal AIM speak and niceties is a good goal -- I am trying to enforce the formal responses on myself until I get those down.
Thanks for the ...

Re: Trial Period Flights
Great stuff. My comments were related to VFR landmarks -- a bit trickier for local parley I since they aren't documented. :)
I'll be staying away from IFR for quite a while. I have plenty of RL flying stuff to learn. I'm creaking slowly through the Naval Aviators book because the other handbooks ...

Re: Trial Period Flights
Hi Keith,
I just read your post about drones and now see why San Diego is largely empty since most of it is under Class B airspace. Maybe eventually you'll come up with ways to add aircraft under B and be able to give them simple commands (go around, divert, etc) so they can mingle with us sentient ...

Trial Period Flights
Hello,
I just finished doing a few flights during the trial period for PilotEdge and I wanted to post some feedback. First, a little bit about me. I have been around aviation my whole life with my father flying in the Navy and when I was born he left the Navy and used the GI Bill to get his CFII ...
