Initial Contact
Hi all,
since my last flight yesterday evening I am wondering if it's not recommended to make an "Introduction call" (at least on the very first contact).
When I contact Tower (or Clearance) for the very first time I've learned to do it like so:
"John Wayne Clearance Delivery (Tower) , N351E ...

Re: KTOA to KOXR VFR / Some questions...
Thank you Jeff N, MervA and Keith for your opinions.
I understand my Idea of using a "non-standard transition, which is generally not done at airports which have published transitions" caused confusion by the Controllers and also by myself.

KTOA to KOXR VFR / Some questions...
Hi to all of you,
since it's been a while since my last flight on PE I moved on practising VFR flights these days.
So I went from KSNA (John Wayne) to KTOA (Torrance) and planned on going KTOA to KOXR (Oxnard) afterwards.
As I parked at KTOA at the ramp planning my further flight to KOXR a ...

Re: V-03 Rating Workshop & Tutorial Flight Available on YT
Thank you Mark,
the Videos are gorgeous!
They will help me a lot and also encourage me to master the V03.
Although I already understand most of the US aviation rules and procedures (I am German) and the differences compared to the european airspace (which I am fairly familiar with), it is still ...

Re: A newbies experience / Or: The unbelievable amnesia
Hi punder,
thank you for the hint, but I already had an 2013 AFCAD file for KSNA installed and verified it is the same layout as on the AD Chart for KSNA.
I also passed the V-01 already and plan on flying the V-02.
Now installing bluesky california scenery first, it looks awesome.
See you in the ...

Re: A newbies experience / Or: The unbelievable amnesia
Thank you punder and hello Texfly,
it's good to know I am not the only one having "some Problems"..:-)
But I am sure that the time will come when we both will be much more relaxed and sound (and act) more proficient than today.

A newbies experience / Or: The unbelievable amnesia
Hello to all,
my Name is Robert, 51 years old, i am from Germany and I would like to introduce myself as a "newbie" to PE. (signed up a couple of days ago and did 3 flights already on PE until now).
In real-life I am a (low-time) hobby-Pilot, starting in 1999 when I began to live "the dream" with ...
