I finally figured out what puts the fear in me when I was online with PE.

I don't know what to do when I make a mistake? What is the proper procedure?

let me give an example.

I'm flying along and I accidentally busted through a/s I wasn't authorized to enter.. controller comes on and chews me out.. no problem, I can accept it, I screwed up..(I have to confess, I actually like it when the controllers get irate sometimes.. it just makes it feel more real. It also makes for a good "war" story afterwards with your online friends)
but NOW WHAT? do I say, "sorry" and continue or... ask for xition through xyz airspace? or turn around and fly out of it ASAP.. I never know how to respond.. I usually freak out and get rattled and disconnect! then cool off and try the flight again in an hr or so..

What REALLY should I do?

either exit the airspace you just violated, or take action with the controller to receive a clearance for the airspace that you're in.

Making the controllers irate shouldn't be something you strive to do. There are other ways of learning other than making a series of mistakes. Instead, you can arrive better prepared, and/or more focused on your flight. Making a small mistake and learning from it is another. Making enough mistakes that the controller actually becomes annoyed means something is probably amiss.

"Disconnecting" isn't an option in a real airplane, neither is pausing. I'd recommend flying the plane and fixing the problem.

I had a bravo bust once in real life and there was no reset or disconnect button. I had to deal with it in real time while flying the plane. If you want the simulation to mirror reality as much as possible, then you should remain connected, fess up and negotiate a solution with the controller. Tell the controller what happened then fix it.

Edit: my original post was mistyped and said that you shouldn't strive to avoid irritating the controllers.
