Simventure 2025 scenery

Post by Ken Quinn »

Hi,

I downloaded the new scenery, and I'm having a problem with "Dynamic Flagmen". This has been a problem all along, but I hoped that the new softwrae would solve it.

I am using P3D v5 (latest update.

On entering the Pilotedge Client I got this screen (see atachment)

Hi Ken, just seeing this. Were you able to get it worked out? In the future, Discord is a much better way to get help.

Thanks Kevin,

I've tried Discord and find it to not be very user friendly. Probably it is just me.

No, I've not solved the problem. Instead of flag men lining the taxiways I have airplanes. Lots of airplanes wing tip to wing tip, whatever I have set as default. This is not new, I had it with the previous iteration of the scenery, and also with Lakeland during "Sim N Fun". I can get by with it, but it is frustrating.

When I do the scan in Client it finds many aircraft, but only displays a few of them. The rest go to default, and I have aircraft in the sim that won't work as default aircraft.

By the way this years hours were very inconvenient for the East Coast. I could only participate on Sunday, Friday and Saturday were too late. It was disappointing; I like to do several flights over two or three days, but this year could only do two.

Thanks,
Ken

Another point, regarding GPS and the Notice. Page 4 notes, quite accurately, that waypoints VPENV, VPPLK and VPGRN do not exist in older databases. In my sim, at least, they can be very easily added. I have the RealSimGear GNS 530 and 430, with Reality XP. I watched a couple of YouTube videos, then programmed the first one. Took about a half hour to learn and do the first one. Five minutes or less to do the other two. To do so, must, of course, have Lat and Long coordinates, but I got these from Navigraph Charts, but they are also in the R/W AirVenture "Notice.". I don't know about other GPS operating software, but in my setup it was quite easy after I learned how to do it.
