Still testing.....
Might be my CSL folder....
Or the XHSI plugin....

Pretty sure the problem is with my CSL folder. I have added a bunch of CSL's. I replaced my CSL folder with the one that comes with the downloaded VSPro Resources folder and everything works okay. When I use my CSL folder X-Plane crashes.
Heavy sigh......

I removed the XHSI plugin and I cleaned up my CSL folder. Got rid of some suspicious (and rarely used) CSL files. X-Plane is back to normal!! Yay! Now to test it with all my Saitek gear hooked up and connected to PE. I'm adding the XHSI plugin back now to see if it causes any problems.

Well, it's been fun working this out with myself.
The culprit was the bad CSL files. XHSI works fine and my X-Plane install is back to normal. Whew! Now to log on and take a long overdue flight!!!

Well, back to square one. X-Plane 9.7 won't even load when I have the VSPro plugin installed. Crash to desktop after a very long attempt to load. Spinning beachball of death. When I remove the VSPro plugin files, X-Plane loads and flies great. I've downloaded the plugin again and still no love. Help? Running X-Plane 9.7 and OSX 10.8.2.

I can't offer any help, but I for one appreciate your troubleshooting, Steven. I was considering upgrading to Mountain Lion but will hold off until I know it'll play nice with PE.

Steven,
I was under the impression that things were good after you removed the custom CSL's that you had. What changed after that? Let me know if you're around today, I'll try to help you out through a screen share.

Re: Any MacOS 10.8.1 users?
Keith,
I'm not sure what happened, but it seems I'm back to square one. I apparently have a problem with one of my external drives that I had my X-Plane installation. I have another external with X-Plane installed, but it is packed somewhere and I have no idea which out of the two million, okay, 83 boxes stacked in the studio. We moved from my old studio where we had been for 22 years and are purchasing a two story building where we will live above the studio....as soon as the contractor is done remodeling it for us. Hopefully, next week we'll be able to "move in" upstairs and I will be able to find my other drives. Until I can find my other hard drives and have some time to spend troubleshooting, I'll just have to sit tight. I'll let you know when I'm in a position to set up all my Saitek gear and be back in the saddle.
With that said, I do have 9.7 installed on a newer Mac Mini that I had been flying on last summer, but last night when I tried to get onto PE, I got the crash to desktop. And that particular Mini is actually running Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.3 or whatever the last update was. I have Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro, but I know the problem with X-Plane on the MacBook Pro is probably related to the wonky hard drive. Now the problem is happening with the internal hard drive installation of X-Plane 9.7 on the Mini with Snow Leopard installed. As I said before, I'll let you know when I can get together with you for some screen share time. Thanks!

Re: Any MacOS 10.8.1 users?
After moving my home and my business and getting to a point where I could set up my cockpit last night, I tried flying X-Plane 9.7. I now have it installed on my internal drive on my MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.2. I loaded up Carenado's new Cessna C337 Skymaster and took off. Had a sweet little ride from KBZN to KLVM and back. Then I noticed ZLA was still open so I shut down X-Plane, loaded the VSPro plugin and restarted X-Plane. X-Plane wouldn't even load. Crash to desktop. Three times. Take out the VSPro plugin and I can fly to my heart's content. I am most definitely back to square one. I'm ready to trouble shoot this thing and get back on PilotEdge. Help!!

Let's start with no plugins loaded and a stock aircraft, then add PE and see how you do.
