Only to keep this thread up to date:
The problem still exist with Beta 11 and Keith told me that he is planning to update the plugin within the next weeks. Also I report the bug on the x-plane developer page here:
http://dev.x-plane.com/support/bugreport.html
If you report it also there, maybe we become a reaction because there are more than one guy who had report this issue.

We're going to be replacing the beta version of the audio drivers with the new, production drivers. This did solve the issue in a standalone test on OSX 10.8.x a while ago on a machine that was exhibiting the broken-up audio problem. However, in his case, the audio problem wasn't specific to the version of X-Plane (this was pre 10.20 if memory serves).
The upgrade will require EVERYONE who connects to the voice server to upgrade their software at the same time, though, so it will be well-planned and announced in advance as it effects absolutely everyone connects to he the service. In other words, the new library isn't backward compatible with the old library.

Can anyone who's having the 32-bit mac audio issues with XP10.20 beta please try running X-Plane with the -no_sound option from the command line?
This might provide us with some info as to why it's not working, in case the new production audio libs don't fix the issue in the future.

Hi Keith,
I am not sure what this option means, but when I try it I had sound, I hear the controller and also the controller hear me in a readable way! Perfect!
Could I use this as a workaround till the new plugin is ready?

I try this last weekend and today again (-no_sound option) and on both days it did not work. Same issue, I hear the controller, he hear something from me - but it is unreadable. Checking the mic in the OS and it works perfect.
Strange!?!?

Goose, you're saying it worked the first time you tried it, but hasn't worked since?

Sorry for tripple post, but I had test something. I try to find my transmission in the records:
http://www.pilotedge.net/recordings/hou ... _17510.mp3
At 4:38 my transmission starts. It is closed to unreadable and has a strong echo. Maybe there was an controller that understand what I mean and most times there is a controller who did not understand what I mean. That could be the reason why it worked one time with -no_sound and after that it did not work.

Went back to 10.6.8 with a clean installation to take advantage from the new 10.20 autobuild scenery and avoid the mountain lion audio issue.
Situation is that issue is still present so I think is not OS related.
Can anyone confirm that?
Any ETA for mac audio drivers update?

What Mac are you using? Intern Sound or Soundcard?

I'm using Imac 27'', so internal card (Intel I guess).
To comunicate on PE I'm using a Plantronics USB headphone with integrated mic.
Yesterday I performed a clean Mac OS X install on a HD partition and still the same issue.
At this point I'm quite sure it depends on 10.20, not on Mac OS.
Anyway it seems I have no other chance that using 10.11 which I like but, flying all the time in VFR, is pushing me to maximize the objects render settings (no autogen here).
This way I have to find another renders settings balance to fly with decent fps (25 as minimum).
After all I can live with this issue, waiting for the 64 bit upgrade on mac.
