Brett, we've completed the investigation. We tried everything, water boarding...a collector's edition of Golden Girls, and ultimately, a Yanni Live at the Acropolis CD. The controller is insistent that the instruction was providing an altitude to maintain until established on the localizer, not a crossing restriction.

I was about to break out my Justin Beiber DVD for one last attempt, but thought enough was enough......I mean I was going to go out and BUY the Bieber DVD.

We will chalk it up to my lack of proper listening skills then.

You can tell the controller to deny all my ILS requests from now on. ;)

Brett, all kidding aside, what the controller probably said was, "3 miles from LEMON, fly hdg 160, maintain 2500 until established on the localizer, cleared ILS RWY 19R approach." The mention of LEMON and the altitude may have become muddled in your recollection, that's all.
