Ok, thank you for everything so far. I will have an email to you shortly.
I would change the ptt to the left or right control key within the PilotEdge app.
then, close down pilotedge. start fsx, select the airport and wait until fsx is completely loaded and the sim is ready to go.
then, start pilotedge, connect to the network, tune your radio and call for a radio check.
on subsequent flights, simply start the sim, pick the airport, then start pilotedge as the last step.
If you exit to the main menu, then you have left the sim and the PilotEdge applicatiion will either disconnect from the network, or it will get stale data.
lastly,you can check the online map to see if you are connected to the network and where the system thinks you are. it'll also show the frequency that you are on.
