Since this is real world us viewers have no idea if there's any background on this....

iow - maybe he used to do things a bit more laid back but management got on his behind about it. This is like one side of the story guys.

IMO he is a bit anal about the readback but technically we need to get these readbacks (I'm a controller irl). I'm pretty sure we didn't have to get all the details a bit ago but that's changed.

Heck half the time I catch myself clearing pilots almost like pilots readback a clearance... so that's no good LOL! I'll say something like "expect FL190 ten minutes after departure." Or "expect FL190 in 10 min" You should hear me slur off a MOA clearance to our F16's.... so many numbers, and so they get shortened a lot.

Anyway I thought the controller was professional the whole time... he wasn't a db at all. He said things like "if I missed it" etc. He could have said "you didn't read this back, or you sloppily read this back" etc

anyway the ATC reference is 7710.65 2-4-3 - and yes this has changed as denoted by the thick black line

Hope I didn't come off jerky, I didn't mean the controller was ridiculous......

he was nice and professional.....

I was trying to describe the situation being ridiculous I.E. a nice ATC controller who raises eyebrows (because nobody's on the same page) by making pilots read back correctly.
