Ok - I couldn't find everything (super-tiny audio interface on Chrome/Mac!! Very hard to scrub), Was on LA Tower (not SoCal) but...
===================================
On the May 15th 11:00 ZLA Radar,

14:50 - Mini-route request

16:02 - The mess-up I mentioned in the V3 thread while NORTH of the LA B.

??? time between ???

17:00 Request to LA tower to go to Torrance Tower

17:10 - Directed to contact SMO Tower 120.1, keep squawk

19:00 - TOA Ground, taxi instructions.

So, no Hawthorne, but there's the time that just seems to jump between 16 and 17 minutes.

I listened to the flight recording (I have too much free time today...Florida TStorms) and unless I got the wrong one it seems pretty nominal to me. Peter was controlling and you went from SMO tower to LA Tower (cleared through the Bravo at 2500') then you requested freq change to TOA tower and that was approved since you had just cleared the Bravo. If you hadn't asked for that you would have been handed off to HHR tower. I don't know if you MUST be handed off to HHR tower on the south side of the Bravo on the Mini route but, since you were clear of the Bravo, as long as you were above 2500' you were not in the HHR airspace so no problem going to TOA tower as long as you stayed above 2500' until leaving HHR airspace and entering TOA airspace.
Sound right?

There's a really simple answer to this one.

I was super busy and didn't have time to hand you off to HHR Local (which would normally happen), hence the direct handoff to TOA as you were a few miles south of LAX. In a perfect world you would have been handed off to HHR Local just as you were exiting the Bravo airspace.

That's all there is to this one.

Thanks everyone -

Bruce - fyi the only reason I asked for TOA was because I was out of Bravo for a "while" (past Hawthorne) and getting awfully darn close to it (TOA).

Peter - thanks for the note! Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

It's interesting, though, that the HHR airspace isn't 2400' since it seems likely that many aircraft exiting LA B would want to overfly it to the south.

For the record, I am really interested in finding out how the heck the ATC team keeps track of everyone, given that in RW circumstances there are a lot more seats filled.

Yep, I would have done the same thing. All sounded pretty ho hum to me.
