I guess strictly speaking we should be able to fly the traffic pattern in either direction, and you get more runway to play with on 20R so its not all bad.

Are there many aircraft in the supported sims with a tranponder that won't report altitude?

The only reason I would see you not getting it is if there is a Congo line of IFR traffic coming in on 20R.

Departures on 20R would be a bigger deal for pattern traffic due to wake turbulence separation requirements between touch/stop-n-gos and departing aircraft of any larger category, or subcategory in the case of a "small plus."

The Bonanza may be larger and more powerful than a 172 but its still quite small.

I bought the F33A with the expansion pack.
Prior to that I'd watched a youtube video by Torbinator97. I assume that user is a member here so if they're reading this then thanks to them as well
It was a video on the F33A with expansion pack, flying VFR by referencing objects on the ground and also flying under PE.
I found it weird how a Carenado plane felt more alive even when I wasn't the one flying it.

Anyway, bought the plane.
Still learning to start it without desperately resorting to trial-and-error.
Didn't realise that 'tow' mode is a toggle and so tried to take off in tow mode. That didn't work out too well, it apparently stops the stick controlling the primary control surfaces
When I did get that sorted though it felt much more natural than other aircraft I've tried recently.
Alive, but I was still able to keep it on the runway during my takeoff roll.
Even managed a couple of circuits as well.

Froogle himself is a pretender. I don't consider him a credible source of simulator aircraft reviews. I would instead consider reviews of people who actually have flight time and / or real knowledge of aviation. I'm sure there are some floating around Youtube or Twitch.

To your other remark, I don't take A2A to be any sort of gold standard. Although they have some high-quality offerings in terms of systems and 3D modelling, their flight models are very unrealistic at times. I've also had some negative dealings with someone claiming to represent them (via Twitch chat).

On the whole, I agree with you. Though I tend to give Froogle the benefit of the doubt because he is at least honest enough to disclaim his opinions as non-expert, and clarifies the extent of his flight experience (very little). He will also reference expert sources if available.

I think that's normally a fair point, except that he is a high-profile figure and people believe that he is an authority and will reference him as one, so his disclaimer is effectively meaningless. I'm not that privy to his latest content, so it may have improved, but I found his opinions and interpretations of any references to be ignorant and ill-informed. It's dangerous and damaging, and ideally, he shouldn't be doing what he's doing (and dually, people shouldn't be taking him seriously at all).

Let's avoid the route of personal attacks, please. The party in question isn't here to defend himself, which is probably just as well as the thread might devolve into something worse. Our forum has, by and large, stayed above this level from the outset and I intend to keep it that way.

There are ways to express disagreement over a review, or even point out a lack of real world flight experience without resorting to name calling.

Okay, I do enjoy Froogle's 'work' and if he gave a negative review of something then I would consider it.
In my experience he doesn't do that, he'll avoid reviewing stuff he's not convinced about on the whole.

I also enjoy A2A's work and do consider them to be a 'gold standard' within FSX based on their products that I've previously used.
The flight model is fairly accurate as I understand it (and they claim to do a lot more flight testing of the real aircraft, and user testing of their simulation of it, than virtually any other developer I know of).
Their models have depth, attention to detail and manage to maintain an element of fun.

But when it comes to Froogle and REP, all I recall is that he mentioned on his weekly 'news' show that they had a new product out.
As is often the case on his news show he said that it was available without giving an opinion.

I've previously bought an xplane product by a company said to have made an A2A style product.
Its not one of my favourite addons for xplane.
It may just be user error on my part but it made me cautious of REP.
As it turned out I was mistaken about REP
The only annoying thing for me about REP is the popup checklist that appears every time I go near the edge of the screen.
I think you can turn that off but I haven't yet.
