Remember that 1 inch of mercury equals 1000 feet. 0.1 inch equals 100 feet. So if the settings between sim (say 29.92) and myflightroute/RW (say 29.90) are small (0.02") then the altitude difference is not that important (20 ft in this example).

Thanks for the math. I took your approach of flying the sim altimeter, and I worked quite well.

When landing i sometimes discover that my sim altimeter isn't always the same as the Atis. But isn't it more important that you enroute are flying with same altimeter as atc tells due to traffic separations?

Anders, you should set your altimeter to whatever it is in your sim, otherwise your altitude will be inaccurate.

Yes. Mostly of the time it's correct like atc says. Using Activessky next. Just on rare occasions it's difference.
