I have just posted KHND Henderson Executive. This is a nice, towered airport with ample tarmac parking, as well as a whole lotta hangar space. Custom spawn points let you start from parking, a hangar, or a helipad. The custom apt.dat file created by Eugene Z includes some really great taxi lines to make it easier to taxi at night or find your way to the runway.

Enjoy the scenery,

I just uploaded a really detailed KCNO Chino. This is a really nice map complete with salvage yards, bizjet parking, hangars, helicopter spawn points, and plenty of tie-down parking. The apt.dat file was done by Eugene Z and is chart-accurate.

These scenery packs are designed to improve the realism factor when you are flying on PilotEdge. Instead of starting out on a blank tarmac or nearby taxiway, you have the option of starting at an actual FBO on the airport, navigate thru the mess to your assigned runway, land at the other end, and taxi to a specific location at your destination airport (rather than just shutting down on blank tarmac.)

Again, special thanks to Eugene Z for the outstanding spt.dat file.

I just uploaded the new scenery pack for KCCR Buchanan Field. Nice little airport that includes a good supply of custom spawn points, lotsa tie-down parking, some hangar spots, and even a helicopter spawn point. If you start at one of the north east pads then you can practice taxiing through the rows of aircraft parked there. The northwest hangars make for some good taxi practice as well. Eugene Z did a great job on the signage and taxilines so you can find your way around the place at night.

Free airport scenery for PE Users

I just uploaded the newest airport for the week. KSTS Sonoma County (also known as Charles Schultz - yes...the guy who created Peanuts) is a really great airport for night operations. With the accurate signage (provided by Eugene Z) and easy to follow taxi lines, it is easy to find your way in the dark at KSTS. Also, you can spawn from a number of hangars, there are two helicopter spawn points, and if you happen to be flying something classic you can even spawn inside the air museum.

If you do not have this airport and are using the stock airport file you will find that most of the tarmac is missing and there isn't even anywhere to park. This is a must have airport.

This week's newest airport is KSEE Gillespie Field. Eugene did an extra outstanding job on the apt.dat file by adding T-shaped tiedowns and high visibility taxiway markings. This airport has a ton 'o hangars to park in, including a whole hangar complex just east of the tower. I added a custom spawn point in the San Diego Aerospace Museum, along with multiple helipad start points, hangar & tiedown spawn points. The map also includes several fuel points and a special hanger section for rich jet pilots.

Download it at www.xplanes-scenery.com along with over 40 other airports in the PilotEdge area of coverage.

Just posted the weekly airport scenery file, and this week's winner is...

KWJF General William J Fox Airfield! Nice little GA airport in SOCAL, just north of JKLAX. This airport features lots of T tiedowns, open hangars, fuel tank near the tower, and even renders the nearby lake park (handy visual cue for VFR pilots.) This airport is situated at the mouth of a large restricted zone so don't overfly it or they may scramble the Falcons to intercept you. The airport tarmac, signage, and taxi-lines are all hyper-accurate thanks to Eugene Z's outstanding apt.dat file.

Sorry, no helicopter pads on KWJF, so you can just land at the base of the tower.

In addition to KWJF, I also uploaded the updated KMHV Mojave Airport using Eugene's apt.dat file. If you had previously downloaded the map for Mojave Airport, then you will want this update as it corrects errors in the tarmac, adds signage and taxi lines, includes custom spawn points, and the scenery has been tweaked. So be sure to download KWJF & KMHV at www.xplanes-scenery.com

I just posted the completely new KLGB map. This is a completely new map that is based on Eugene's highly accurate apt.dat file. The map includes accurate signage, taxiway lines, terminal gates are all clearly marked, helicopter pads, fuel tanks and more. It also includes custom spawn points that include the LA County Sherriffs office Helipads, commercial terminal gates, GA tie-downs and helipads near the tower. If you fly Socal then you will want this map in your collection.

However...if you previously downloaded the KTOA-Zamperini map then you will need to delete it from your collection. The old KTOA map had included several airports including KLGB so it causes some conflicts with the new map (yes, even if I remove KLGB from the map it still blocks the taxi lines and airport markings.) So just delete the thing and I will reissue those airports at a later date.
