Keith, I understand that adding extra words is not the way to go but there is something going on, Jeff just confirmed it. It is the beginning of the transmission for few seconds only that many times will let one ( not just me) miss the call sign.
He WAS and is speaking loud enough , it is the beginning. If it was just me, I would not bother but Jeff just confirmed it.
If there is no way to verify and fix it, I am OK with that. :)

The fact that you can hear a controller just fine after a few seconds simply means that the GAIN on the mic has been turned up to compensate for an input volume that is too low to begin with.

Please, I ask that you allow us to handle the solution when it requires explicit knowledge of the technology that's used to make this work. We have recordings, we know what you're hearing, we're hearing it too. Further confirmation is not required. Your analysis of the symptoms is correct, but your analysis of the root cause is not. Please allow us to handle that part.
