I always thought Skyvector had a disclaimer that the charts were not to be used for real world flight planning, so the fact you can now file a flight plan is strange. That being said, I like the new feature as you can cut and paste your route and it will now map out the entire route, including airway fixes (which used to not be the case). If used to ignore airway entries. Too bad SIDS and STARS are still not recognized.

Seems like it may be a work in progress. But, I like what I'm seeing. I was able to build a VFR route from KAVX to KBUR including user waypoints for the coastal route LAX class B transition. I didn't specify aircraft type or tail number, just the planned cruise alt and TAS. The nav log automatically calulated heading and GS based on forecasts winds aloft. It even seems to have done a reasonable job estimating time and distance to climb given that I didn't setup or specify aircraft.
