Must I reboot after installing?

NO PE client showed in add-ons menu in P3dV3 after installing this "trial version"?????????????????

I only have P3Dv3 on my system (other than XPlane 10 which is a different installer). No P3dV1 or 2 or FSX

No, you don't have to reboot after installing. There is a known issue where if you tell it that the sim will run "PilotEdge only", it doesn't add any of the items to the startup menu.

However, if you're running it all on the same computer, you shouldn't need to use that option.

The installer crashed when I attempted to install in network mode. The sim computer install went ok I think (my first install) but when I tried to install on the client computer selecting "run pilotedge only on this machine" the installer crashed? Tried a couple of times but same result.

I was able to install using the both on same computer option but I would like to run in network mode for performance?

Just tested the installer in 'client only' mode, couldn't replicate the crash on 3 separate machines.

I don't recommend using the distributed mode (sim on one machine, PE client on another) unless it is absolutely required. With multicore machines and P3D/FSX being essentially single-threaded, you have plenty of spare CPU to run the PE client which is itself relatively light weight. I'd stick to run it all on one machine.

As Keith knows I'm a network mode flight simmer.

After my CPU, MB and GPU upgrade I finally got around to installing Prepar3D and the PilotEdge client. Network mode worked like a charm. One thing I did notice was that I had to run the PilotEdge client as administrator on the network computer fot it to work correctly.

Terry, this has been a long-running issue. The installer crashes for some people after all the installation steps are complete (we haven't been able to replicate). Can you check your system and see if it was actually installed? Chances are, it's all there and ready to go.

It was not installed. I have installed on sim machine so I will forget networking for now.

on the sim machine, every time I close PP3dv3 after a minute or two I get the windows this program has an error and needs to close. Checking the detail of the error shows this

NorCal, I'm running PE with the latest version of P3D with no problems. I usually have to re-set the audio output to the headset each time, but other than that it works great.
