6:32 - I didn't issue it to you the first time round, but did once you didn't read back the clearance correctly, which in effect turned out to be one giant clearance transmission, anyhow.

No worries, I was just curious what the controller did in this case. Try not to let your nerves rattle you too much, a pop-up IFR is actually simpler than picking up a clearance on the ground. The only variable is that you don't know what route you're going to get. Again, if you miss a part of it, just have the controller re-read the portion you didn't get. It's not a problem

I hate not being able to understand everything all the time and it is so embarrassing despite the fact that it is not really my fault.

Alex, thank you for being patient with me, I just have to do "say again" thing more or less often, I hope you understand.
I think that Controllers on PE are just like in real life, the top quality.

Get ready for another pop-up IFR clearance request from me and a few "say again"... :roll:

I just have to pipe in for a minute. Andrzej, you have no reason to be embarrassed. I commend you for taking advantage of PilotEdge. Not only that, I commend you for working on your real world PPL. I have nearly perfect ears and I can't tell you how many times I get things wrong. I'm learning it's not uncommon for pilots to make mistakes on PE, but I even hear pilots make mistakes on LiveATC at my local airport, KBZN. We all learn from our mistakes. I figure if you're not making mistakes, you're not trying.

Hi Steve, thank you very much for the support and encouragement.
I understand that everybody makes mistakes and that is a part of learning, I am not different in that matter, of course.
What does embarrass me and makes me feel like a retard is when the mistakes I make are simply caused by not hearing ...
I do not know if there is anybody else flying on PE with hearing impairment but believe me, it is very discouraging.
There were quite a few times when I was considering just giving up flying on PE.
Even after last pop-up IFR clearance attempt, I just fell so stupid not being able to repeat Alex's instructions...

OK, this is not the place to cry about what can not be fixed ... I have to live with that and I hope I am strong enough not to quit flying on PE.
I love the professionalism of the Controllers, I feel like I was flying in real life...

I've watched you fly on here since the very start and I have to tell you that I am absolutely ASTOUNDED with how far you have come. I work on here everyday and I can personally tell you that the gap between how many times I repeat myself to you and other pilots is incredibly small. Your doing a great job dealing with your hearing disability.

Inputs like yours make me believe that my efforts are still worth something and that definitely motivates me to keep going with PE.

Maybe I will start to use my real name, Andrzej.

I started using AJ because many people had a hard time pronouncing Andrzej and AJ does the job.

Had my first experience with lost comms last night. You can hear it at 20:7:00 to 20:7:30. Had a great flight in my new Carenado C185F from CMA to 3L2 - Sky Ranch. All was going well, other than a bit of an icing issue, until I was told to go to LAS approach. Even though I can hear myself read back 125.02, I wrote down 125.20 in a bit of a dyslexic moment. I switched and called approach, but no response. Tried again and still no response. I switched back to LA Center and asked for confirmation for the approach frequency, but no response. I waited a few seconds and switched back to 125.20 and called for approach again and of course no response. Switched back to Center and called again, but no response. In listening to the recording, it sounds like I got walked on when I called back to Center. I should have stayed on the Center frequency a little longer and probably would have heard his call back. At that point, I was less than 20 mile out of 3L2 so I squawked 7600 and proceeded to Unicom frequency and landed. In retrospect, I should have looked in my Flight Guide to get the Approach frequency. I knew I was still connected to PE because I showed up on the live map, but I wasn't getting through on the radio. I've invested a lot in real world aviation tools over the years. I guess I should be better at using them in situations like this.
