[Fixed] Fresh FSX Install

Just recently reinstalled a OS and FSX on my new Core i7 system. Do I need to run the SB setup prior to the PE setup anymore? I don't see that in the documentation for the PilotEdge software anymore. I am getting a "side-by-side configuration" error. I have checked the FAQ forums and I DO have FSX SP2 installed on my computer. I am using the client on a remote PC. I didn't have any issues with my other FSX installation.
Thanks,
John

Side by side errors mean a dependency from the file's manifest is missing or corrupt. It wouldn't hurt to try re-installing the VC redistributable (

Are you getting this error when starting PE or when starting FSX?

PE. I saw that on some forums last night and I looked through my installed programs and all the ones they suggested were installed. I will try to go through and reinstall them. Funny thing is that I didn't have the problem before the new FS hardware and OS install on my FlightSim computer.

Let me know what time you're available and we'll set up a screen share session to look into this.

Keith,
I am around all day except for a few hours this afternoon. I went through all of the instructions here to no avail.

Email me at iflyvfr (at) navaranospam.net (remove the obvious)
I get that email on my phone and can make arrangements if I am away.
Just to add to the information already out there. My new FS box is Windows 7 64bit, client PC is Windows Vista 32bit. The laptop that works is WinXP. After getting the new OS and FSX loaded with sliders maxed I am really anxious to do a couple PE flights on my day off.

Keith informed me that I had the wrong SimConnect version running. The link to the newer version is located here:

Thanks Keith,
John

Sorry for the confusion. This point bears repeating...the version of SimConnect that ships with the current client is the wrong one. The correct SimConnect version is linked in the forum post that John made above.
The next version of the client will be backward compatible with the currently shipped version of SimConnect (which is based on FSX SP1).

It might be wise to add to the FAQ as well. I looked there before posting a new topic.
