Guys,

Is there an easier way to change COM and NAV frequencies in FSX? I'm having a hard time making changes fast enough. I'd like to be able to program codes in my x52Pro but can't find anything in the FSX documentation.

There is no program that I'm aware of.

Saitek makes a relatively cheap radio stack.

How are you changing frequencies now? Are you using your mouse pointer to click on the hotspots, mouse wheel over the dial, or are you using the keyboard?

Also, what aircraft and radio is this? The default FSX product or an add-on (either free- or payware)?

I presume the issue you are having is once you are airborne and outside of your departing airport or before your approach since typically the pilot would set up the departure prior to calling tower ready for takeoff as well as set up all four radios for atis/approach/tower/ground while still en route and during your approach briefing (and talking to the approach facility who would be handling your aircraft for arrival).

Personally I was thinking about the Saitek radio stack as well but as of now I am using the mouse wheel or clicking the hotspots.

I love my Saitek Radio Panels! I have one for coms/transponder and one for navs. Makes things a breeze, especially on PE. One of the best investments I've ever made!

I bought recently Saitek radio panel and as Steve says, it has been one of the best investments as far as flight simulation goes.

Using the GoFlight stuff. Have six units with the knobs, buttons and dials programmed differently for different aircraft, that includes two radio panels. Also have the MCP PRO, but that is more for the big plane stuff.

Having a physical device to twiddle settings, makes sim-flying much easier.

I found a good solution by using commands that are not in the documentation.

COM/NAV 1

C1 = select com1 freq before the decimal
CC1 = select com1 after the decimal

N1 = select Nav1 before the decimal
NN1 = select Nav 1 after the decimal

COM/NAV 2

Same as COM/NAV except swap "1" s for "2"s.

X= swap

+ and - to increase/decrease.

I programmed this into my Saitec X52 Pro.  MUCH easier and faster.

I presently use a PFC Cirrus II Cat II system so have that covered but I used to use CH yoke, rudder and pedals with the ACP Compact. I did like the simplicity and completeness of the ACP Compact and wish something as easy to set next to the monitor was still being made.
