Further Proof That Keith is ... Different

As weird as it sounds, I learned of and joined PilotEdge before I knew anything about VATSIM. I've learned that there is a lot of interesting reading there and I've been enjoying it.

And then there's the stuff that Keith has written. He takes aviation education (and entertainment) to a whole new level. Here's an example that I just found. I'm still chuckling from reading it:

It starts off as a completely straight, serious article, but just keep reading.

Mark,

I'm glad you liked it. Believe it or not, the original versions were a little more....biting, especially in the first paragraph. There used to be a fun reference as to why cousins shouldn't marry, but I sanitized it slightly at the request of one of the readers. The first paragraph was completely stripped of its mirth prior to being published on the PE training program (the article is available here on the PE site: http://training.pilotedge.net/object/ZL ... rrors.html).

Truthfully, having fun while writing it makes it more enjoyable to write what would otherwise be some fairly dry, long material. I also hope it helps keep readers awake (much like what Rod Machado does with his aviation writing).

The one area where I used to have a blast was when we used to write individual press releases for I-11 graduates. Here's a list of the more light-hearted ones: http://pilotcerts.laartcc.org/page/whim ... eases.html. Some of them contain in-jokes among the controllers, but most are easily accessible.
